The kitchen is beyond disgusting. The dishwasher does not clean things properly and weekly this company receives complaints from clients and event guests that the glassware still has lipstick on it, cutlery is dirty or dishes still have food on them. The grease trap in the kitchen and dishwasher backs up daily into the storage warehouse, flooding the event service materials with water, food particles and grease. This attracts flies and others pests and the conditions in the showroom, bakery, kitchen and warehouse are appalling.

Dishes and glassware are old, un-matching or chipped.
The cutlery frequently does not match and is cafeteria style in most cases.
Food is often spoiled or expired in the both the catering kitchen and bakery/store. Customers have been known to return mouldy pies, rotten vegetables, expired dairy products, etc.
Kitchen staff do not use gloves to prepare the food.

If you are choosing Kings Court Catering (www.kingscourtcatering.com) as your caterer- You are making a mistake!!!
Kings Court Catering has been in business for a long time; however, this company is not an example of excellence in their industry. Countless servers, drivers, bakers, cleaners, managers, sales associates, set-up crew, temporary and seasonal help, clients, customers, etc.- have all been a victim of the total lack of professionalism and management in this company. The owners, Mr. Kevin Anyan and Mrs. Kathy Anyan, portray themselves as honest and committed members of their local Bowmanville community. Nothing could be further from the truth. The following is a list of the variety of issues that are currently occurring at Kings Court Catering;
Staff have to wait for multiple days to get their pay cheques. In many cases, when the cheques are finally handed out, staff attending the bank the company uses are told by tellers that there are no funds to cover the cheque any way. Staff have waited for 4 weeks or more to receive their cheques. Single Mothers working there are forced to trek to the office more than once, only to find out their pay is not ready. Cheques are also returned NSF. This company does not pay over time, even though staff frequently work over 44 hours a week. They also do not pay holiday pay. Staff that work on national holidays are paid their normal hourly rate. Vacation pay is only issued to staff if they ask for it. When staff quit, this company does not provide their record of employment within a reasonable time frame, directly contravening the Ministry of Labour Act.
Staff are made to sign out for their breaks, again actions which contravene the Ministry of Labour Act.
Ex staff frequently call or attend the office in hopes of collecting their back pay only to be told that the Manager is not available.
Kings Court Catering is no longer the caterer of choice at The Parkwood Estate or Bloomfield Farms. The countless service issues and lack of professionalism are to blame for this, although the company will tell you it was their choice. They were also close to being removed as the caterer of choice at Nestleton Waters Inn, but have since been able to maintain that relationship.
Dishes and glassware are old, un-matching or chipped.
The cutlery frequently does not match and is cafeteria style in most cases.
Staff are not paid for mileage on their vehicles and receiving fuel money is always a chore.
Food is often spoiled or expired in the both the catering kitchen and bakery/store. Customers have been known to return mouldy pies, rotten vegetables, expired dairy products, etc.
Kitchen staff do not use gloves to prepare the food.
Kings Court Catering has been reported to the Ministry of Labour in the past and was made to attend hearings based on a variety of issues. They are also currently involved in a labour dispute claim with both the Ministry of Labour and Employment Insurance.
When clients do provide a gratuity for services rendered, the owners keep it in many cases. If a client pays by cheque- it is always kept. If you are using this company and plan to offer a gratuity, please do not pay by cheque and give the gratuity directly to the staff onsite. If you don’t there is a chance they will not receive it.
This company has run out of food at numerous events. One of which was a wedding! The client was furious and was provided with a refund for Executive chef Kathy Anyan’s professional oversight.
Executive chef Kathy Anyan has also failed to wait to see if all guests had been served at a recent wedding at Bloomfield Farms. She threw the remaining food away, only to discover a guest had not yet been served their meal. She then created a guest meal using food that was in the garbage.
Events are often understaffed at the direction of the General Manager resulting in numerous complaints from clients. Many of these complaints result in substantial refunds to the clients. In some cases, the owners refuse to provide refunds to their clients when serious issues have occurred. Clients who are issued refunds have to continuously contact the company accountant to receive their refund, sometimes taking months to have it completed.
When clients create an event menu with the sales team the details are provided in the contract, however, when the Executive chef or General Manager feels they want to make changes, they do so. Often this means that menu items are not provided or are altered. Staffing numbers, delivery times, service materials, etc. are frequently not as contracted. In many cases, this comes as a total surprise to the client on the day of their event.

A number of suppliers now no longer accept cheques from Kings Court Catering due to the number of NSF cheques they have received.
You would have trouble finding staff that have worked at Kings Court Catering for more than a season. The staff turn over is very high. This is a tell tale sign of a poorly run company.
Beware of your choice to use Kings Court Catering. You won’t get a chance to experience your special day or event a second time- So choose a different company and save yourself the trouble.

If you are choosing Kings Court Catering (www.kingscourtcatering.com) as your caterer- You are making a mistake!!! Kings Court Catering has been in business for a long time; however, this company is not an example of excellence in their industry. Countless servers, drivers, bakers, cleaners, managers, sales associates, set-up crew, temporary and seasonal help, clients, customers, etc.- have all been a victim of the total lack of professionalism and management in this company. The owners, Mr. Kevin Anyan and Mrs. Kathy Anyan, portray themselves as honest and committed members of their local Bowmanville community. Nothing could be further from the truth. The following is a list of the variety of issues that are currently occurring at Kings Court Catering; Staff have to wait for multiple days to get their pay cheques. A number of suppliers now no longer accept cheques from Kings Court Catering due to the number of NSF cheques they have received. The accountant has a full time job at another company, so invoices are never paid on time or accurately. The accountant is now servicing Kings Court Catering clients as the event coordinator. As many of the events take place at various locations throughout Durham Region, transportation of staff is always an issue. Staff are often transported in the back of the company cube truck for long periods of time without seating or seat belts. Usually these staff are under 18 and are part time or seasonal workers. The accountant will often adjust staff hours if she does not feel that an employee has worked that long. She frequently adjusts staff cheques to reflect her choices about when and for how long staff have worked. You would have trouble finding staff that have worked at Kings Court Catering for more than a season. The staff turn over is very high. This is a tell tale sign of a poorly run company. Beware of your choice to use Kings Court Catering. You won’t get a chance to experience your special day or event a second time- So choose a different company and save yourself the trouble.Incorrect Info?
